The author analyzes Polish-German relations in Polish contemporary literature. He claims that the analyzed authors’ (Janusz Rudnicki, Andrzej Stasiuk, Szczepan Twardoch, Jarosław M. Rymkiewicz) often impose that military (in the past) or economic (nowadays) tensions between neighbouring nations are nothing but expressions of two competing visions of human nature. This perspective assumes that the Polish vision is more natural and ‘human’. whereas the Germans are presented as post – or non-human beings.
