The Ainu people are one of the most mysterious ethnic groups known to mankind. It played a significant role in the development and settlement of the Far East and, above all, the territory of the present-day Japan. According to contemporary researchers, ancestors of Ainu were the first people appeared on the soil of Japan – far earlier than Japanese themselves.
